The Gathering and our goals

The Green Gathering Herbal Conference is an annual educational event for novice and seasoned herbal practitioners in the Pacific Northwest. We gather in the spirit of advancing knowledge, promoting a system of sustainable healthcare, and honoring the healing traditions of our bioregion. Our goal is to elevate the practice of herbalism, increase access to botanical wellness, inform and educate on sustainable wildcrafting and create dialogue about the ways in which we might provide informed and integral practices.

This year is our 5th annual event happening on Camano Island, WA.  June 29th-July 1st
Tickets will cost $125 including camping or $98 for the three day pass

Proudly supported by the American Herbalists Guild and our sponsors above- All proceeds from the Green Gathering go back into community based herbalism.

3 days of Herb classes, community and conversation.

We are now in the fifth year and feel more cohesive than ever. Join us for our herbal community celebration on Camano Island State Park, a drive on island (no ferry)  an hour north from Seattle or an hour south from Bellingham. We gather to learn about all things herbal and feel blessed that we can do this on the shores of the Salish sea surrounded by old growth forest. There are several goals with this Gathering - to be outside in nature while learning about the Magic of Nature, to be affordable and accessible to diverse walks of life and to be in a place where we can get together and be fascinated about herbal medicine and earth centric wisdom. There is fantastic camping, in the group area or alone, or come along for the day and stay a while around the fire. Check out the WorkshopsTeachers and FAQ and purchase your Tickets now!

When: 29th June - 1st July starting 12pm Friday - 3pm Sunday
Where: Camano Island State Park, WA
How Much? $125 for all 3 days including camping, $98 for 3 days without camping, $45 -55 per day

Workshops and Teachers

The Pacific Northwest is home to many amazing plantfolk - clinical and community herbalists, medicine makers, gardeners, kitchen witches, beekeepers, and more. We are honored to have this rich diversity represented at GG. Experienced and renowned teachers, as well as saplings from the next generation of healers, will be sharing their wisdom with you. Come curious and expect to be inspired! View our list of teachers

The conference weekend includes 3 days of dynamic classes covering diverse perspectives and a wide range of topics for the budding and rooted herbalist. Herbalism is a practice that comes from a rich and varied lineage founded in the storytelling of experience passed down. Our teachers come from all over the PNW to share their wisdom and experience and their knowing.

Additionally, we have scheduled an opening ritual, children’s camp, community potlucks, and an onsite clinic with opportunities for private consultations with Dr. Ryan Drum. View our Schedule and Workshops

Join Us for a Fantastic Time At Kids Camp

We are excited to be announcing a very special herbalist leading the Kids Camp this year!

Welcoming Kristine Brown, author and creator of Herbal Roots Zine, a fantastic publication that has engaged kids of all ages in the practice of herbalism and fascination with plants. If you don't know this magazine we highly recommend checking it out - Here's what one reader has to say

"Though directed at kids, Herbal Roots Zine is IDEAL for adults.  I love how it keeps things simple, and I love the great, beautiful art. You get to learn through information and recipes sure, but the REAL magic is in the PLAY…songs, poems, crafts, puzzles and stories. These are the oldest form of human learning. We’re hard wired for it, and this is why Herbal Roots Zine is the most effective herbal learning tool I have seen. Kristine is an amazing artist and herbalist. As a mom of 4 kids, she has a true gift for connecting with kids. Though my own children really love Herbal Roots Zine, secretly, it’s me who spends the most time with it. Shhhh.- John Gallagher, L.Ac., and creator of Wildcraft! An Herbal Adventure Game

So we are super excited she is leading programs for the 3-11 year olds including games, projects and observations of the local fauna around.

Kids Camp is included in child ticket for ages 3-11  - If you would like to register your child for Kids Camp please email  the name and age of your child(ren) to to complete registration after ticket purchase.

The State park is warming up slowly as we finally emerge into Spring. Right now there are Wales swimming by and plenty of mating eagles over head. The rainfall has led to a lush green everywhere and this will be a good year for berries. It feels like the roses will be in bloom for the gathering as well as the yarrow with some huckle berries and salmon berries coming to fruit to add to our Saturday Night Herbal Pot Luck at the Beach Shelter. Otherwise all classes, events and meals will be focused at the group camp for greater convenience and less hill climbing. We are excited to be inviting back the wonderful Chef Chris Nau and his team who will be preparing delicious locally sourced meals. The opening and closing ceremony will be led again by Ylva Mara Radziszewski, of the Cunning Crow, with deep appreciation from all of us who got to experience her magic last year. New classes and teachers, exciting childcare programs led by Kristen Brown creator of Herbal Roots Zine, herbal entertainment will be all be posted here and on our facebook page or you can sign up to be sporadically updated on our email list

The Founders

The Green Gathering Herbal Conference is a grassroots educational and community event in its fifth year. The conference was born out of conversations between four herbalists who wished for a gathering rooted in a fierce commitment to plants and teachers, PNW bioregion, diversity in community, affordability, and accessibility. Out of this vision Alyssa, Anna, Kelly Ann and Natasha conjured up a space that is immersed in Nature, celebratory of our diverse local herbal scene, and global in perspective. We are also excited to welcome a new member of the core team, Emma Day.

By weaving together many healing traditions and aspects of healing work (physical, emotional, spiritual), there are opportunities for both beginners and advanced practitioners to deepen their knowledge. It is also wildly fun! Our mission is to provide tools that empower folks to develop a respectful relationship with the plants that nourish and heal us. Join us as we reclaim our birthright - wellness and vitality through connection with Mother Earth, our human and plant family.
